PT-141 Dosage: What the Label Says and Leaves Out

Researchers moved the drug from tanning work to sex studies. The label's amount wasn't chosen for your health.

The plain answer on dosage

The PT-141 dosage here comes from the drug label and published work. Nothing here selects a figure for you.

For approved use, a shallow shot delivers 1.75 mg. The label won't allow another use within 24 hours, or more than 8 uses in a month [7].

The label lists a half-life of about 2.7 hours [7]. In plain words, half the drug is gone from your blood by then.

The drug reaches its highest blood level in about an hour [7]. An effect you notice could outlast that peak.

Early work used a nose spray, compared several amounts, and repeated shots during a short weight study. None of those tests sets your care plan.

PT-141 material offered for lab research differs from the approved medicine; nobody checks its quality [7]. If we read the label together, I'd keep its numbers apart from advice for your body.

What the approved PT-141 dosage allows

For the approved group, the US label gives 1.75 mg through a shallow skin shot. It says at least 45 minutes before sex, at most one dose in 24 hours, and no more than 8 in a calendar month [7].

Those limits belong to the approved group. They weren't picked for you and don't carry over to an unapproved use.

What the approved PT-141 dosage allows

What tests set the PT-141 dosage for women

The approved label gives its group 1.75 mg by a shallow skin shot when needed [7]. An earlier Phase 2 test compared 0.75, 1.25, and 1.75 mg before choosing 1.75 mg [7].

That stage compares amounts. Your health isn't in those figures, so they can't show what fits you.

How long does PT-141 last in blood and in how you feel

Following an under-the-skin injection, the label gives a half-life of 2.7 hours [7]. By then, about half the starting amount is still in your blood.

The blood level peaked soon after injection [7]. Early nose-spray tests also found fairly quick clearing from the blood [7].

Brain scans still found the desire effect at 24 hours [5]. Your own feeling might outlast the highest blood level.

What your body does with the drug

About 21% travels attached to proteins in the blood, which carry many substances around your body. That number doesn't say whether the drug is safe or likely to help you [7].

Your body first takes the drug apart. Most leaves in urine, with the rest mainly in stool; joined ends make the drug harder to break down.

That shape doesn't show how long you'll feel an effect or whether it'll be safe. Researchers tried a nose spray, a dose into a vein, and shots beneath the skin [7].

Approval came only for the injection. An early Phase 1 safety test gave the drug more than once during 15 days while researchers watched weight [7].
